At Narellan Community Congregational Church (NCCC), we place a high value on the word “community”. We are inspired to this by a passage from the Bible, which describes how Christ Jesus gave gifts to local churches in the form of leaders who equip us and build us up together for unity and maturity (Eph 4:11-16). This passage describes local churches as communities of faith, where each member speaks truth and serves one another gladly.
Of course, a group of people do not become such a community through education alone. We become a community in practice. And what better place to practice than around fun and food and music!
At NCCC, we organise and host events for fun and fellowship throughout the year. Some of these events are for our members and friends, while others are for our neighbourhood. Some are specifically for children, women and men.
Some events planned for 2022 include a whisky-tasting and campfire (for men in May), flower-arranging and painting workshops (for women in June & October respectively), showtunes and dessert (for members and friends in July), Carols In The Park (for our neighbourhood in November), and many others.
We call these events Forge Ministries because we care for, support, and ‘build’ each other up through them.
